Five people had to be rescued from a gorge near Loch Lomond yesterday after being trapped because of wet weather.

Lomond Mountain Rescue Team were called out at 1.23pm to the Devil’s Pulpit (Finnich Glen) after receiving an emergency call from Police Scotland.

An adult and four children could not make their way out of the glen safely because of the water conditions.

Rescuers were lowered down to the group and dressed the children in orange blizzard protection systems jackets for warmth – making sure all were safe and secure.13728907_10157400942365556_8771550414062264174_n

At the same time, a technical team established a rope system to raise everyone out of the sheer-sided pulpit.

The group was hoisted out of the gorge and checked over by the team paramedic. Once warmed up, and in dry clothes, they made their way home.
