Planning applications for Clynder and Rosneath are due to be considered by Argyll and Bute Council.
The owners of Clynder Stores – which changed hands last year – want to reopen the coffee shop, which has been closed for several years, in their Victoria Buildings premises.
Meanhile the Ministry of Defence Estates is applying via Babcock International for a 40-metre tall navigation tower at the degaussing range at the Green Isle, Rosneath.
There would be an electrical services cabin as well as the steel tower, all within a security fence.
The mast would house control lamps and ‘various transmitting.receiving equipment, including RADAR, GPS and radio.
An environmental assessment submitted with the plans stats that the only major risk involves the potential spread of Japanese Knotweed.
More information about the Clynder application is here, and the mast plan details can be found here.
Great to hear that the coffee shop at Clynder is reopening, the Rosneath/Clynder area has been sadly lacking in any amenities in hospitality for too long.
125′! That will stick out a bit, it’s twice the height of the tower at the farm.
