Projects in Cove and Garelochhead look set to share almost £100,000 in funding from the UK Government.
Nine projects across Argyll and Bute will be awarded a total of £304,262 of capital funding if councillors agree their officials’ recommendations on Thursday.
They include Cove Sailing Club, which is recommended to receive £49,998 towards the cost of its new clubhouse, and Project 81 which is expected to be given £46,465 for a community garden room.
The sailing club was awarded £428,000 of levelling up funding from the UK government last year, and in February planning permission was renewed for its new clubhouse at Barons Point.
A report by executive director Kirsty Flanagan to Thursday’s meeting says there were 38 applications to the UK Shared Prosperity Funding Vibrant and Living Spaces Grant Fund.
“An open competitive application process has been carried out to identify potential recipients,” she adds.
“This has been followed by a robust assessment process in line with guidance issued to applicants.
“The application and assessment process has now been completed and the highest scoring projects identified.”
Projects need to be completed and fully drawn down by March 31 next year, with no opportunity for grant funding to be carried forward into the 2025/26 financial year.
The other recommended awards are:

- MacDougall of Dunollie Preservation Trust – Improving the World of Trees £37,346
- Mull and Iona Community Trust, Dorus Caolas Ulbha – Sound of Ulva Gateway Heritage Interpretation, £25,000
- Dunoon Community Development Trust – Grow Food Grow Dunoon at Struan Lodge, £17,120
- Tayvallich Initiative Ltd – Tayvallich Grows, £10,045
- Isle of Gigha Heritage Trust – Gigha MUGA, £50,000
- Benmore Botanic Garden – Walled Garden Redevelopment, Phase 1 , £50,000
