Decision day set for Faslane Peace Camp’s future

The future of Faslane Peace Camp will be decided on May 12, it was confirmed this week.

Earlier this month it was revealed that the camp’s residents said it may have to be turned into a garden.

It is due to mark its 31st birthday later this year , but currently there are only four residents.

Its future was discussed at an open meeting in Glasgow last weekend, before Monday’s demonstration at Faslane which saw 47 arrests.

A statement by the camp confirmed: “The decision of the meeting was, that a support group will recruit new people until May 12. If there is no new group of people until then the camp will close.”
