Later bus to Rosneath Peninsula is mooted

A later bus to the Rosneath Peninsula could be on the cards, if there is enough public support.

Currently the last hourly 316 bus to Coulport, via Clynder, Rosneath, Kilcreggan and Cove, leaves Helensburgh at 10pm.

But there is a bus which leaves at 11pm, terminating in Garelochhead 18 minutes later.

The idea of a later service was broached with Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) by Cove and Kilcreggan community councillors.

Christine Murdoch told Tuesday night’s meeting that she had raised the issue with SPT’s bus services manager Alex Scott.

He said a service request could be submitted to SPT, but the community council agreed to ask the public whether there was sufficient demand beforehand – to have you say, the community council can be contacted via its Facebook page.
