Christmas wreath workshop for Linn Gardens

There will be a unique chance to design and make your own traditional Christmas wreaths next month.

Botanist Dr Jim Taggart will be among those offering help and information at the event, which will raise funds for the Linn Botanic Gardens in Cove.

Sponsored by the Old Christmas Shoppe in Helensburgh, admission is only £5 – which will include all the materials you need – and free for children.

The workshop will be held in the Gibson Hall, Garelochhead, from 2pm to 5pm on Sunday December 9.

Tea and baking will be available for everyone throughout the afternoon – not just for those who have worked up an appetite in creating their wreath.

Jim Taggart has been at the Linn since 1971 and is responsible for much of how it looks today, welcoming visitors from all over the world.

The garden is open all year from dawn to dusk and hosts an open day in May.

The Friends of the Linn is a registered Scottish charity, made up of a wide range of people who support Jim in his work to preserve the garden and the rare specimens it contains.

New members are welcome – and anyone joining on the day will be given a refund of their admission.
