Marvel Avengers movie uses Loch Long as location

Scenes from Hollywood blockbuster Avengers: Infinity War were being filmed beside Loch Long this weekend.

The A814 between Whistlefield and Arrochar was closed to traffic as scores of crew worked on scenes at Glen Mallan, with military-style vehicles with American number plates using the jetty,

With a cast including Robert Downey Junior, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chris Hemsworth and Zoe Saldana, the Marvel Studios movie – with a reported budget of £400m – has already used locations in Edinburgh’s Old Town, while Durham Cathedral is also expected to feature.

The jetty at Glen Mallan is Ministry of Defence property, and is linked to the NATO arms depot at Glen Douglas via a road through Glen Culanach.

Last year the three-part BBC drama Stag was filmed nearby at Glen Douglas and the Rest and Be Thankful.

The A814 re-opened this morning (Sunday).

  1. Think you’ve been given wrong info it’s Jurassic World 2 that’s being filmed. AF is the working title. Ancient Futures

  2. Tom is right, this is Ancient Futures the new Jurassic Wirld Movie. Avengers were only filming in Scotland for one day and that was months ago.
