Guides sought to tell the story of a Maid

Do you like nothing more than telling a good tale? Think you’ve got what it takes to keep people interested? Then the Maid of the Loch needs you!

The team at the steamship on Loch Lomond is looking for volunteer tour guides to show visitors around the ship and bring her fascinating story to life – the boat is being restored as part of a £5.5m project.

A spokesperson said: “If you like meeting new people and can help encourage others to support the ship’s journey back to full steam then come along to our special volunteer event on Saturday 4 March 4 and find out how you can help this historic ship.

“We also have lots of other volunteer opportunities available ranging from workshop to back office admin, archiving, event support and more, so if you’d like to learn new skills and make a difference to the local community then please come along.”

Training will be provided for successful volunteers and it is hoped to have the team ready for action by the beginning of April so don’t delay.

The event will start at 11am on March 4 at the boat which is alongside in Balloch.
