Witness appeal after fatal crash on A82

It has now been confirmed that a motorcyclist died following yesterday’s road accident on the A82 near Inverbeg on Loch Lomondside.

Police Scotland are appealing for witnesses after the accident at about 10.35am – they say that Colin Cameron (44) of Glebe Street, Renfrew, was riding his Kawasaki motorbike northbound when he was involved in a collision with a Ford Transit van which was travelling in the same direction.

Mr Cameron died at the scene. The 24-year-old driver of the van was not injured.

Relatives have been informed and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Constable Karen McCann at Dumbarton Road Policing Department would like to speak to anyone who was travelling on the road at the time and witnessed the collision.

She can be contacted via Police Scotland by calling 101.

The accident happened just three hours after Police Scotland launched its ‘Live Fast, Die Old’ motorcycle safety campaign.
