Weather blamed as Rosneath Peninsula roadworks delayed again

Road repairs in Cove have been delayed for a second time because of bad weather.

Argyll and Bute Council had originally scheduled five days of work on the B833 for October last year, but was hit by poor weather.

Rescheduled until earlier this year, it is now expected to be carried out in April or May, a council spokesperson said, adding that the repair programme had again been disrupted by weather.

Meanwhile a severe pothole which appeared near Cove Burgh Hall earlier this month has been filled in – but solid tarmac now blocks the drain there.

The spokesperson said: “The drain has completely collapsed so a temporary repair was carried out until we can rebuild the chamber and replace the frame and cover.”
