Gordon Watson takes the helm at national park

The new chief executive of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park has been named as Gordon Watson, previously the authority’s director of operations.gordonwatsonapproved1-web

He will replace Fiona Logan, who announced in October that she was leaving the Balloch-based national park after six years to join the private sector.

Mr Watson, who lives in Gartocharn with his wife and two daughters, will lead a team of 142 people covering conservation, visitor experience and rural development.

Park authority convenor Linda McKay said: “Gordon has championed our national park since its inception in 2002 and has achieved national recognition for his outstanding work on planning and sustainable development.

“He has established great relationships with our communities, local businesses and partners and is really well placed to lead on the delivery of Scotland’s aspirations for world class national parks.”
