An outraged resident has asked the public for help in tracing fly-tippers who have targeted a popular woodland walk.
Waste from building work has been dumped at the Kilcreggan access to the forest track which runs along the Rosneath Peninsula.
The track is used by walkers, cyclists and horse riders, featuring views over the Clyde and Gareloch on the way up to a trig point.
“It looks like this is rubbish from some renovation work,” said the local man who took these photographs.
“I hope that the Polaroid photo will be a clue in trying to trace the selfish gits behind this.
“It must have been dumped in broad daylight today (Friday November 14), either by workmen – or a local person who just doesn’t care about this beautiful area.
“If anyone thinks they might be able to trace these criminals, please call Police Scotland on 101 – it isn’t just a matter of how appallingly ugly this mess is, it’s a real danger to wildlife.”
In October last year a nature reserve at the other end of the track was targeted by fly-tippers, who dumped building waste there overnight.
The rubbish was there on Thursday morning, I noticed it on my return to my car with the dogs from a walk.
That was just before 8 am. I saw 2 other dog walkers, neither of them came by car.
I noticed on Sat 14/11/14 there was more rubbish than the previous weekend, so I think the offending moron who dumped it has made more than one visit. Hopefully he/she will be prosecuted.
