Craigrownie Park celebrate after £48,000 grant

Fund-raisers aiming to refurbish their local play park are celebrating after being given a £48,000 boost.

The £100,000 target for Craigrownie Park in Cove is now much nearer thanks to the grant for the full amount applied for from the Armed Forces Community Covenant.

Roni Ferguson of the local fund-raising group said: “I am utterly delighted and special thanks to Councillor Maurice Corry for guiding us through the process, to Arlene Cullum for advice on the application and to everyone who kindly wrote letters of support – Frances Bretman, Sheena Edwards, Ursula Jones, Dr Doyle, Alan Reid MP, Jackie Baillie MSP, Nick Davis, every single one made a difference.

“We are now reaching  £60,000 and the dream of Craigrownie Park is well within our sights for 2015.”

The group’s next fund-raising event is a Hallowe’en party on Thursday from 5-7pm on Thursday.
