Kilcreggan pensioner found by locals after large scale search

A pensioner has been found after a large scale search operation by emergency services in Kilcreggan

Dozens of police, with a dog unit and helicopter, were involved in the search for 86 year-old Nora Hickman, who went missing from her home in Shore Road this morning.

But it was a local resident, Andy Marshall, who had volunteered to help the search, who found Dora in the grounds of a house on Rosneath Road earlier this evening.

She was said to be conscious and talking; police took her into a local house to recover before she was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley.

Suffering from Alzheimer’s, she does not normally leave home on her own but care workers found her home empty when they arrived at 9.30 this morning.
