Plans for a £100,000 refurbishment of Craigrownie park in Cove created a lot of interest last weekend.

There was a good turnout at Saturday’s community meeting and organisers say the event was a success, with positive responses to the proposals.

Argyll and Bute MP Alan Reid was among the visitors at Cove Burgh Hall, and said he would do everything he could to help the project.

Badges, key rings and mugs were on sale and helped the group make good progress towards its initial fund-rising target of £5,000.

Mr Reid said: “The young people of Cove & Kilcreggan deserve a proper play park and I give my full support to the Craigrownie Park Group’s plans and their fund raising efforts.

“They are a very enthusiastic and hard work community group who deserve to succeed in seeing their plans become a reality.”
