Top class Highland Games athletes will be in action in Helensburgh tomorrow (Saturday).
The Helensburgh and Lomond Highland Games will be held at the town’s rugby club on Rhu Road Higher, with British and Scottish Championships in both the heavyweight and athletic events.
It will also be hosting the Scottish Qualifying for the World Highland Games Heavyweight Championships, with other attractions including pipe bands and the Clann an-Drumma tribal group. Highland dancing, Scottish wrestling, children’s entertainment, trade and food stalls and a beer garden.
The gates will open 9am, with dancing and local novice heavy events starting at 10am and the chieftain’s parade at 12 noon.
Tickets are £5 for adults, £3 for concessions and £2 for children; a family ticket for two adults and two children is £12.
Parking at the games site is very limited and restricted to disabled badge holders only, but a free shuttle bus will run from the pier car park.
