Recipes for success in national awards

Two Helensburgh businesses have won prizes in Scotland’s largest hospitality event.

Tapas restaurant La Barca won the best Mediterranean restaurant award in the Scottish Entertainment Awards tonight (Sunday) at the Clyde Auditorium in Glasgow.

And the Wee Kelpie was named best takeaway – just weeks after being awarded the title of best fish and chip shop in Scotland.

After a dinner at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Capital FM’s Des Clark hosted a night of entertainment, song, dance and comedy which saw awards being presented across a wide range of categories.

Other finalists included:

  • Loch Lomond Bird of Prey Centre (favourite family day out category)
  • Riverhil Café in Helensburgh (best deli/bistro category)
  • Loch Lomond Sealife Centre (favourite family day out category)
  • Helensburgh’s Masala Twist (best newcomer section)
