There will be a rare chance to hear the Glasgow Phoenix Choir performing on the Rosneath Peninsula next month (May).
In their first visit to this area for several decades, they will perform a ‘spring festival’ – a mixture of contemporary and traditional choral music – at St Modan’s Church in Rosneath, in aid of church funds.
The choir rose from the ashes of the Glasgow Orpheus Choir and continues to sing some of the old favourites (such as All in the April Evening) as well as newly published work.
Marilyn J Smith MBE will be the conductor, with Cameron Murdoch accompanist and depute conductor.
Tickets for the event on Sunday May 18 are £5 and are available from the church on Sundays, from MacIntyre butchers in Rosneath or by calling 01436 842565.
