Streets packed for Helensburgh winter festival

The second Helensburgh Winter Festival saw the town centre packed with visitors and locals today.

The newly refurbished West Clyde Street was lined with stalls, with a huge range of Christmas gifts to choose from, while the pier played cost to funfair rides, a continental market and the Your Radio stage where entertainments ranged from the West of Scotland Military Wives choir to an ice cream competition.

Street performers and the Neptune Volunteer Band brought a sense of festive fun to the whole ton centre – and even the weather smiled on the event.

Tomorrow (Sunday) the stalls will be open again, and the Ayrshire Reindeer will be visiting; there will also a be a Santa Dash before the festival closes with a fireworks display..
