Drivers in Helensburgh town centre have been confused by a sign saying they should give way to oncoming traffic – in a one-way street.
An Argyll and Bute Council spokesperson said that eventually the road will only be access from West Clyde Street.
“The sign is placed in advance of the next phase of works by the CHORD contractor,” he said.
These signs indicate that priority in the narrow section will be for in-bound traffic.
“To avoid confusion prior to the works re-commencing on January 6 , this sign will be covered in the meantime.”
