A computer systems error has hit Argyll and Bute Council’s website, meaning crucial agenda items have been unavailable to the public for more than 48 hours.
As revealed here, the agenda for Thursday’s full meeting of the council was available online on Friday of last week but vanished the next morning (Saturday).
There was speculation that the disappearance was linked to controversy surrounding some of the 29 items on the agenda, including potential legal action against Faslane Peace Camp, a hard-hitting report about the council by the Accounts Commission and the sell-off of sites at Ardentinny and Toward in Cowal.
But this morning (Monday) a council spokesperson said the problem was caused a ‘system error’, adding at 3.37pm this afternoon: “We are continuing to work to rectify the systems error which is preventing the council papers appearing on the usual section of the website. In the meantime we have made a copy available on our ‘services disruption’ page.”
The full public agenda is now available via the links below – but the file is 46 megabytes and more than 500 pages long, rather than being split into individual agenda items as would usually be the case.
