Rescue teams called out to dog and gorge walker

There were two emergency calls in the same day for Arrochar Mountain Rescue Team last week.

The volunteer team was called out at 11.15 on Tuesday morning (October 15) to rescue a dog which had fallen down a rock fissure.

But while they were assembling, another call came in to an accident involving a gorge walker in Lochgoilhead.

This casualty had suffered knee trauma, and was recovered by the mountain rescue team, Scottish Ambulance Service paramedics and instructors from a local outdoor centre.

The casualty was transported by stretcher to the nearest road, for evacuation by ambulance.

Meanwhile, Police Scotland’s mountain rescue team attended to the dog, which was retrieved safely.
