Blues and blooms at the burgh hall

Cove Burgh Hall’s summer maintenance period will come to an end with a lunchtime blues concert this Sunday (July 28).

Harmonica Lewinsky will be playing from 1pm, with doors opening at 12.30. Tickets cost £10 on the door, but are £8 if booked online at, from outlets including Cove and Kilcreggan post offices and Polly’s Café in Rosneath – or call 01436 842177.

Tickets include a light lunch, and there will be a licensed bar serving real ales and wine. Children under 12 half-price.

Then on Saturday August 17 comes one of the highlights of the summer, the RNLI flower show, when local gardeners and bakers will be competing for the highly prized trophies.

Doorswill open for viewing 2pm, with the prize giving 2.30 and entry by donation. All entries will be sold for RNLI funds.

Classes include flowers, baking, jams & jellies, vegetables and a children’s section.

There will also be a tearoom and stalls selling bottles, plants and RNLI goods.
