A few months ago there were no local takeaway options at all for residents in Kilcreggan and Rosneath – but there could soon be three to choose from.
A mobile chippy has been operating successfully in Rosneath for some weeks, and now visits Kilcreggan on Saturday evenings.
But with a new coat of paint being applied to the chip shop in Rosneath – which has stood empty for several years – there is speculation that it could open up again, despite the fact there is now competition literally across the road.
And this week plans for a hot food takeaway at an empty shop unit in Kilcreggan have been revealed.
Agent David Jarvie, of Pollokshields in Glasgow, has submitted proposals on behalf of a Mr Arshad to convert the former Allsorts shop in the centre of the village, which closed last year.
There would be a flue installed at the rear of the building according to the plans, which will be considered by Argyll and Bute Council and are available here.
