Residents in Rhu and Shandon are being encouraged to attend a public meeting to debate plans for the UK’s largest community wind farm.
An extraordinary public meeting is being held by the villages’ community council so that members can be sure they are representing residents’ views.
More than 280 members of the public have so far commented formally on the plans by Rosneath Peninsula West Community Development Trust.
The meeting is being held on Monday 28th at 7.30 in Rhu Community Hall, and community council secretary Jean Cook said: “A community council is a consultative body, and should therefore be reflective of the views of the community it represents.
“We need to know what these views are on the Cove wind farm. The purpose of the meeting is to determine the response of Rhu and Shandon Community Council to the planning application.
“Residents are therefore encouraged to attend the meeting so that their views will be reflected in the response the community council makes.”

The deadline for comments on the wind farm application has now been extended to February 18; members of the public can make comments online via the council’s website here.
