HELENSBURGH has two new community councillors after a closely contested by-election yesterday (Thursday).
Votes were counted at Argyll and Bute Council headquarters in Lochgilphead, and Margaret Currie and Norman Muir were elected to fill two vacant seats on Helensburgh Community Council.
The full results were: Kevin Craddock: 612; Margaret Currie: 895, elected; Norman Muir: 690, elected; Daniel Wright: 515. Total ballot papers counted: 1,617. Total rejected: 56
