Early bus trialled on Sundays

An early morning bus service from Coulport to Helensburgh on Sundays is to be launched.

The idea was revealed by Councillor Maurice Corry at a Cove and Kilcreggan Community Council meeting in September.

And today it was confirmed that the new service would leave Coulport at 8.05am, calling at Cove, Kilcreggan, Rosneath, Clynder, Garelochhead, Shandon, Rhu and Helensburgh.

“This is in response to requests from the communities en route,” said community council secretary Murdo MacDonald.

“The new service will run for a trial period of six months, after which its continued viability will be assessed.”

Currently buses run on this route every two hours on Sundays and the earliest departure had been 11.05am.
