Sunday sailings over – for good?

Ferries on Sundays between Kilcreggan and Gourock have finished for the winter – with inevitable doubts about whether the service will ever be restored.

The Sunday service has been seasonal for many years, and operators Clydelink reminded customers today that it had ‘ceased until April 2013’.

But when SPT awarded the contract to Clydelink in January the Sunday sailings were initially planned to be axed, together with the service to Helensburgh.

The Sunday sailings were restored by SPT after pressure from councillors – but for 2012 only, with funding for future years dependent on passenger numbers.
