Ferry sailings cancelled because of high winds

Ferries to Dunoon and Kilcreggan were cancelled today (Monday) as rain and winds battered the UK.

At 1.30pm Clydelink announced that sailings between Gourock and Kilcreggan were suspended – on the second day in service of the long-awaited second boat.

Three hours later the firm said there would be no sailings of the Cailin Oir for the rest of the day due to adverse weather conditions.

Argyll Ferries said that because of north-easterly winds gusting over 40 knots, sailings between Gourock and Dunoon were suspended and the situation would be reviewed at 7pm.

Complimentary buses were taking passengers to and from Western Ferries terminals leaving from outside Gourock train station and Dunoon pier on the hour and half hour.
