The community library in Cove will be closed for at least a month this autumn, it has been announced.
The facility was closed down by Argyll and Bute Council two years ago in a bid to save £30,000 a year.
But it was reopened soon afterwards, being run by Rosneath Peninsula Amenity Society and staffed by volunteers.
Because of restoration work at Cove Burgh Hall – also run by local volunteers who took it over when the council tried to close it down – the library will be closed from 8pm on Wednesday August 29 until the end of September.
A notice states: “All members are invited, during the month of August, to stock up with a large selection of books, or CDs, which will be issued with a long return date.
“We regret any inconvenience caused by this closure, but it is outwith our control.
“We shall endeavour to reopen on October 1 but this has to be reasonably flexible. Further information will be advised when available.”
