Roadworks on the A814 between Helensburgh and Dumbarton road have been completed ahead of schedule.
The work by Argyll and Bute Council meant the main road through Cardross had to be closed for days at a time, with diversions via Loch Lomondside.
Final surfacing works were finished on Thursday July 19 with anti-skid measures and lining improvements completed the next day.
Traffic was moving freely by Friday afternoon and bus services to Helensburgh also resumed.
Council staff are now working to improve the bus stop at Cardross crematorium and hard surfacing on the footway at Keppoch and Colgrain.
A statement said the work would be carried out under traffic light control ‘to keep traffic moving as much as possible’.
