Inverclyde councillor ‘satisfied’ with handling of ferry saga

Inverclyde councillor David Wilson, a member of the committee which voted to give Clydelink the contract for Kilcreggan’s ferry, has given SPT officials a vote of confidence.
“I am satisfied by SPT officers handling of the Gourock/Kilcreggan/ Helensburgh ferry contract,” he said today (Monday).

Satisfied: Councillor David Wilson

“Councillor Duncan MacIntyre, myself and the late departed Councillor Al Reay have been constantly updated by senior officers throughout the process.
“My prime personal concern throughout has been those in both directions who need the service for their daily business.
“The K/H leg was simply not a runner and I am mindful that the new contract saves the taxpayer some £190K per annum.”
He referred questions about the tendering process and other concerns to officials.
