Speeding drivers stopped by police in Cove

Police Scotland officers have been carrying out speed checks on the B833 in Cove on the Rosneath Peninsula today.

One man has been charged with speeding, while several others were warned to keep within the 30mph  limit.

Earlier this year Cove and Kilcreggan Community Council called for signs on Shore Road in the village to remind drivers of the legal limit.

Police say they have also received complaints of drivers speeding near Arrochar Primary School and they are urging drivers to slow down near schools.

In recent weeks police across Argyll and Bute have reacted to a steep increase in serious accidents by mounting a high profile road safety initiative, with unmarked cars as well as speed traps being used across the area.
